July 2008 update

The red fire-truck which I call my bed...
While frantic negotiation for the nuclear deal is currently under way, closer home, Amma scored a diplomatic coup for me by convincing Appa to get me a fire-truck bed, the one which is painted red all over, and with the ladder & red light to boot. I am not supposed to know this, but apparently this truck-bed also has another pull-out bed. Needless to say, I love this bed, and I sleep in it regularly.

Strange-but-true!!

Amma gets some weird pleasure (as all mothers and sisters are wont to from time to time) in dressing me up in a saree and making me look like a girl..Wait till I grow a little bit older and put an end to this silly nonsense.

This dress can induce laughter sometimes!!The life of a gymnast - Expect a toddler to always figure out a way to play with whatever one has readily availableAt Sankranti restaurant - Me lapping up the curd-rice and Bhajin's war-stories

Did you know that Bhajin can eat a lion!! He said so himself. He was explaining this at Satya atthai's treat at Sankranti. While eating the absolutely delicious thair-sadam (curd-rice), I was thanking my stars that I am on Bhajin's good books. who knows what else he plans to have on his menu??
Jurong Lake Park - We fulfilled Appa's wish of going to the Jurong Lake Park

Other Updates:
The song of the month is ... poom poom from Partner.
My vocabulary has now picked up significantly. I can now convey ideas in sentences.
Over at MMI, I now have another friend, Randall. We play together a lot and he usually does what I do and vice-versa, including once sleeping on the floor which got Miss Rahimah's goat. And the consequences included being warned that I would be taken to Miss Usha's office.
I now have quite a few friends from the neighborhood, and we have a whale of a time every evening. These days they keep singing OSO (Om-Shanti-Om) and run after me and so I run after them too. After the usual playtime, I chat with Vaishnavi-akka from our balcony while having our respective dinners.
I also picked up a few new car logos like Chevy, Subaru.
My weekly rendezvous with the folks at My-Gym continues.

May 2008 Update

In Amma's words I am doing justice to my name, Krishna (vennai-thirudi aka butter-thief). Butter has come from behind to top the charts of my all-time favorite foods. I love butter so much that I raid the fridge and get the butter myself. Now Amma makes sure she gives me some butter everyday.
I am now a Streethawk!!!, courtesy Akash my hero!!! Akash is such fun to be with (and a Ben Ten fan to boot) and he teaches me quite a lot of new things, including Power Rangers. I can now recognize a few of them but still haven't fully got quite a hold of, partly because Appa & Amma are ensuring that I don't watch too much TV.
On one of the days, Amma gave me a surprise by taking me to Akash's place after school and I made the best of it by having a blast over there. Akash-anna had made a picture of his family and put me in the picture as his little brother. He wants to keep me with him.. and I don't mind it except I need to go home too...
Akash visited us as well and we made use of this time to play some good old hide n' seek.

Amma & Appa took me to Appa's colleague Gopal uncle's house one of the days. Appa then played tennis with Gopal uncle and others while I played around in the playarea. It was so much fun and I was watching Appa and admiring his play, while simultaneously playing in the play area. Later, Aditya anna showed me some of his toys and I was delighted to see a toy bendy bus, motorcycles among the various toys. What could I say, it was a treasure trove of toys. And Aditya wanted us to have a sleep-over but unfortunately, I had to decline due to activities planned for the next day.On May 11th, we had a Mothers' Day function at MMI. We kids had to introduce our moms to everyone present. I saw one kid doing the introduction and I easily picked it up and then introduced my mom to everyone over there, even though I know little about structuring sentences. There was one activity where the moms would be cooped up in one room and then sing a line and the kids had to recognize the voice. As soon as I heard "i love you... you love me..." I recognized the voice and ran to her. All in all I entertained everyone.

Yippee .. Thatha & Paati came over to stay with us for a while. And I made the most of it. Thatha has a daily morning sandhyavandanai and I started joining him in it as well. So, Amma gave me a separate plate, water and spoon so I could do my own thing as well. Boy... did i have fun!!! Taking the water, sprinking it on oneself.. ah the joy...

At Annalakshmi
We went over for lunch to Annalakshmi, on one weekend and I had a gala time just talking to the nice volunteers at the restaurant. After that, Amma took us on a short trip in Chinatown. Without any insistence from me, Appa out of the goodness of his heart decided to get me a bendy-bus, the kind you see mostly from TIBS on the Singapore roads. Funnily enough, the wording on the bus itself seems to suggest it was intended for export to Colombia but ended up in Singapore from where else, China.. I always wonder how much globalized the world is..

I love wearing the veshti like Thatha and have now started to drink joos (Vitagen) which the lady dressed in red from Vitagen gets for us. I want to drink Vitagen all the time and have many times made moves on the fridge but Amma is very alert and she can catch me even if she is in the other room. I also love to play with Paati's pottu. One of my favorite stories from Thatha is the story of Gajendra-moksha, especially "crocodile thapp ne panitta".
Thatha, Paati, Appa, Amma & I also went to the Suntec City area and took some snaps near the Fountain of Wealth, which was very interesting. There was also a display of animals in Suntec and I managed to have a tiger pose with me.

We also went to my friend Mitran's (Tarz chithappa & Sukanya chithi) own house in Sengkang and after that to Bhajin's place. Thatha taught me that Bhajin stayed near Fernvale LRT.
My little brother Shreyas had come over alongwith Bhaskar periappa & Nirmala periamma to see Thatha & Paati. He's such a darling and I am sure he'll be fun to play with, but for now, I get a bit angry when Appa konjifies him.
Nowadays, Amma & Appa and even Thatha and Paati have resorted to talking in code language like G.O. for go and "Do you want some J.U.I.C.E (juice) so that I dont understand. It took me a while to put two and two together and now I have wisened up to their tricks.
All in all, May '08 was a blast due to Thatha and Paati.

April 2008 Update

Early in April, we had Amma's birthday dinner at Original Sin and Bhajin, Vidya atthai & Sathya atthai had joined us in singing the birthday song for Amma. You can't imagine how much fun I had, hopping from one chair to another. Bhajin is a rock star!!! He is my role model!!

One of the days, I decided to get on Amma's nerves. The way it happened was I hid in Appa's wardrobe and closed it. Amma was looking for me all over the house and after some time she started getting worried and then finally gave up. Then I decided to help her out by giving her a clue and started mewing like a cat. She then managed to find me and was mighty relieved finding me. She then did the motherly thing of explaining that it wasn't safe to do such things. Safety.. what's that? As it is I like opening Appa's wardrobe and sitting in it. Its anyone's guess whether I will be back playing hide & seek with Amma some other day.
Appa & Amma have got me enrolled into MMI (Modern Montessori International). I love going to cooool... Ssori at West Coast (Modern Montessori school at West Coast). I got my own pair of uniform, shoes, socks. I have this funny feeling I am going to be wearing these types of uniforms for a long time to come. At school, I now know all these new people.. Mis Soni, Randale, Colin, Shania. I managed to pick up these names in the first week itself. I talk a lot with Amma on what I did & what I ate and in general, what went on at school each day. I even told Amma "Om ollo gefriend Shania". Besides, Amma always takes out the diary from my bag and shows Appa what Miss Rahima has written each day.
I am now very busy whatwith MMI on weekdays and My Gym on Saturdays. I now also know the names of different flowers and can identify some of them. I do a lot of painting & crayoning at home.
My vocabulary is now officially bursting at its seams. Its been tough for amma to keep a track of the new words that I have picked up as they are too much and so there isn't an itemized list in this update and in the future.
I also love to try on Amma's sandals sometimes.

Will be back with an another update soon...

March 2008 update

Ever since I have come back from Oz-land, I have been bombarded with questions on what I have seen in Australia, did i see a kangaroo.. etc. I can happily tell everyone that i have seen

kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, seagulls, penguins, etc. I can also point out the Opera House if I am shown a picture.
I still remember Kumar-uncle saying good job and Priya-aunty with her Cheerios.

I now have a new bath song Patti-rap which Appa & I sing during my weekend bath sessions. Amma especially laughs at the line 'podumada sami enakku oru wife'...
Amma's schoolmate Shashank had come over to Singapore and I had a chance to meet up with him and I had a tough time trying to keep up with their conversation, and tried to muscle in on the conversation with my tantrums.
I have started going to "My Gym" on Saturdays. I love playing with all the items over there and also love the teachers there.

Bhajin had come over and I enjoyed going on walks with him and playing with him.
on the way to my gym
I overnight doubled or tripled my toy collection when Pranav bhaiya gave all his toys to me and now I am the proud owner of a Lightning Mcqueen car, a taxi, a fire-engine truck, a helicopter and other assorted stuff.
I now do everything with my transport toys. I play with them, sleep with them, eat with them and even tuck my toys under the pillow and on the side of the bed.
The tent-house is also up and I have all my stuff there too.
can u sit like this????

The other actvitity completed was that of my own car collage.
